The Hanover Chamber of Commerce has been representing the businesses of Hanover and area since 1955 and continues to play an active role in promoting business and addressing the concerns of the business community of Hanover. Mayor's Luncheon Meeting: Our Feature event for 2017 is our Mayor's Luncheon. Mayor Sue Paterson will present her "Top 10" during our Christmas Luncheon. Hanover Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet: We proudly celebrated our Community on Wednesday March 22, 2017. The Chamber's Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet featured presentations to Hanover's 2016 Citizen of the Year "Tim Dietz", our Lifetime Achievement for Community Service Award honouree "Al Morrow", and our Business Citizen of the Year "Canadian Tire, Dale & Cathy Cousins". We opened the sealed envelope to reveal our Youth Citizen Award, which was presented to Jordan Embro. Our extremely involved youth nominees were: Jordan Embro, Erich Mayerhofer, Ronin Remers and Gillian Rumsey. Thank-you to our valuable Volunteers! Promotions & Member Benefits: We are pleased to support and participate in several annual promotions, coordinated by our Community Improvement Partnership. This unique and successful partnership known as C.I.P. brings together the Chamber, the Hanover Downtown Improvement Area and the Town of Hanover. Together we collaborate for great buying power, giving members the best bang for their buck!
2017 promo opportunities include the Chamber/DIA Coupon Book, Hanover Poker Run on June 3rd hosted by MacLean's Ales, Chamber/DIA Hanover EDC Summer Radio Tags, Sights and Sounds Festival Sponsorships, Chamber Golf Tournament Hole Sponsors and Auctions, and our Hanover Holiday Shop & Win Promotion. Our Members will receive a discount on ads in the Hanover Community Magazine 'Atmosphere', with four issues in 2017. Events: Chamber members are invited to join us throughout the year for Luncheon and Breakfast Meetings, Speaker Events, our Summer BBQ Social and our Annual Road Trip. We will have several Chamber Members hosting 'Business After 5 Socials' featuring a facility tour and refreshments while highlighting their business. Our spotlight event is our Annual Chamber Golf Tournament each September, bringing members out of the office and on to the green for some serious networking! With at least one event planned per month, there is something for every Chamber Member and their guests.
