RE: OLG Slots Funding - 9th Street Reconstruction
HANOVER - The Town of Hanover is pleased to announce that funds received from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) for hosting OLG Slots at Hanover Raceway will substantially fund reconstruction of 9th Street from 7th Avenue to 10th Avenue. $526,900 of hosting funds from OLG has been earmarked for this priority capital project. The total cost of the project is approximately $1,015,345.
“We are so grateful for ongoing support of these funds, used for community infrastructure and community development initiatives. The reconstruction of 9th Street will not only replace necessary sidewalk, storm, sanitary and water services, but will also greatly improve community safety with the introduction of permanent traffic calming measures. We are pleased to see this much needed reconstruction underway, with completion slated for early Fall,” said Mayor Sue Paterson.
“OLG is especially proud of the relationship we have built in Hanover,” said Jake Pastore, OLG’s Director of Municipal and Community Relations. “Since the opening of OLG Slots at Hanover Raceway in 2001, OLG has provided more than $13 million in hosting funds. From healthcare, to education, to community infrastructure, OLG proceeds are hard at work in Hanover and all across our province. We also appreciate the contribution of our slot employees in making life in the community that much richer.”
The Town’s partnership with the OLG and Slots at Hanover Raceway continues to generate the completion of vital capital projects, offer an entertainment experience, create jobs and stimulate the regional economy.
