Town of Hanover Thanks Public for Input into Service Delivery Review
Community consultation has resulted in strong public participation 

HANOVER, ON – The Town of Hanover is in the process of completing the public consultation phase of its service delivery review which has been designed to solicit feedback on the services the Town provides to residents and the surrounding community.

“We are extremely pleased with the level of public engagement throughout this process,” said Brian Tocheri, the Town’s Chief Administrative Officer.  “A big thanks to all of our staff, community groups and committees, as well as the general public, who have taken the time to participate and offer us their feedback.”

The public consultation has been ongoing since mid-June and has included a community survey, which to date has over 450 responses, as well as six focus groups, which solicited diverse feedback from 16 different local community groups and committees.  Members of Hanover’s council and staff were also interviewed.

The public consultation process was designed to get input from community users on the services the Town is providing to residents and the surrounding communities who work, shop and enjoy recreation in Hanover.  The public consultation process, in addition to the service delivery inventory and staff focus groups, will help to determine options for increasing efficiency and effectiveness of the Town’s services.

As the community consultation process wraps up, the project consultants will be compiling their findings from the first two phases of work to create recommendations and a report for Council.  The Town will continue to provide updates as the process continues.   

About the Service Delivery Review

In April 2017, the Town began a service delivery review in order to identify opportunities to increase the efficiency of the Town in providing services that meet community expectations and requirements.  The review is looking at the types and levels of services the municipality provides and will identify opportunities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Town.
