HANOVER, ON – Through financial support from the Government of Canada's Tourism Relief Fund, through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), Heritage Square, the jewel of downtown Hanover, has a few new enhancements to promote activity, pride and inclusion. Enhancements include a new stage cover for the amphitheatre, pride benches and holiday light displays.
“Heritage Square will be a fantastic gathering place for Hanover, where all are welcome to enjoy music and performances,” said the Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario. “Our government is pleased to support small towns, like Hanover, by investing in the public spaces that enhance their town and draw visitors to the area.”
To help celebrate and kick-off this summer’s Music in the Square concert series, a ribbon- cutting ceremony at the new stage cover for the amphitheatre with opening remarks from Mayor Paterson and a cry from Hanover’s Town Crier will happen at the first event on Sunday, June 11th at 2pm when local performers, Maryanne and Carl Holst, are set to hit the stage.
Presented by Hanover’s Cultural Roundtable and Downtown Hanover, Music in the Square is a series of live, local and free performances on the second and fourth Sunday afternoon of June, July and August. People are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and enjoy live music while also supporting Hanover’s vibrant downtown stores and restaurants.
