Hanover, in collaboration with the Grey Bruce Public Health, continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation.

Users of Hanover’s parks, recreation and culture facilities such as the P & H Centre are reminded that when you attend these facilities as a participant, spectator or patron you assume risk when in our facility. An inherent risk of exposure to communicable diseases including COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present.

By visiting any publicly accessible facility such as the P & H Centre you voluntarily assume all risks including any risk of injury, loss, damage and possible exposure to a communicable disease, including COVID-19.

We remind you to follow the COVID-19 precautionary guidelines being recommended by various Canadian health authorities, including the Grey Bruce Public Health, Ontario Health, and the Public Health Agency of Canada.

Great theme weeks offering a variety of creative activities including games, crafts, songs, relays, special events, sports, and daily swim. Participants will be put into small groups to ensure age appropriate activities, (ie. 5-7 years, 8-9 years and 10-11 years). All age groups will participate in a camp wide special event at least once per week. Participants must meet and not exceed maximum age restrictions by the day the program starts.

Things you should know about camp!

Camper Pick Up and Drop Off
Campers 10 years and younger MUST have adult supervision at all times during morning drop off and afternoon pick up. Please ensure that regular escorts and emergency contacts are recorded with your registration. Only those adults listed will be permitted to pick up your child(ren). Please notify us of any changes in your child’s pick up routine by calling 519.364.2310 x 2121. This is our safe arrival hotline. Children are NOT allowed to leave early without consent from a parent or guardian.

See specific camp description for ages. Participants must have turned the minimum age and not exceed the maximum age by the first day of the camp week that they are registering for. Camp leaders will take age difference into account when programming activities. Our camp ratios offer a maximum of 1 leader to 10 to 12 participants.

Medical Information
Health and safety is our number one priority. Please ensure that we have up-to-date information about your child’s medical conditions including doctor’s name and an emergency contact that can be reached during the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm.

What to Bring
Parents will receive a “Parent Handbook” which outlines specific policies and details including what campers should bring.

Payment Plan
If registering for 2 or more weeks, a credit card payment plan may be utilized. Credit card payment for the first week registering must be processed on the date of registration. The remaining dollar amount will be processed on your credit card the week prior to the start of the program. (i.e. If registered for camp July 18-22, the payment will be processed July 11). Subsidy is available.

Week 1 | Schools Out for SUMMER | July 4-8 | Ages 5-11 | $164.25
Kids work hard during the school year, so summer should be all about having Fun, Fun and more FUN! Get ready to try our new games and we’ll play all the classics too. We love to get campers into the summer spirit. Get ready to make new friends and memories as we say hello to summer!
Week 2 | Splash Bash | July 11-15 | Ages 5-11 | $164.25
Get set to get wet. You’ll be in it and around it if you come out for our Splash Bash Camp. Campers will be prepared for water balloon fun, slip and slide, squirt baseball, relays and a soakin’ water battle. Make sure to pack an extra towel as this week is sure to be a splashtacular time!
Week 3 | On Trend | July 18-22 | Ages 5-11 | $164.25
Get ready to go with the flow of what’s trending! This week will focus on the things kids are talking about: fidgets, YouTube, emojis, Minecraft, slime, Mario Bros and more! We’ll play would you rather, make Minecraft creepers, and even experience a real life SIMS simulation game! Get on board with what’s trending and join us for this week of popular fun!
Week 4 | Say Yes to the Mess | July 25-29 | Ages 5-11 | $164.25
Roll up your sleeves and get ready for a week of gooey, messy fun! Bring your creativity this week and join us for activity filled days including art projects, science experiments, ooey-gooey slime and more! This fun week is designed to let kids’ imaginations run wild and discover what happens when you mix imagination with creativity!
Week 5 | Time Warp, Decades of Fun | Aug 8-12 | Ages 5-11 | $164.25
Let’s do the Time Warp! This week campers will experience and be inspired by life in past decades. Travel back in time for hippie day, western day, 80’s day and even travel to the caveman days! Time Warp week will be a fun adventure for our campers to learn how kids of past decades had FUN, and create memories that will last a lifetime!
Week 6 | Fond Farewell to Summer | Aug 22-26 | Ages 5-11 | $203.25 ($39 trip fee included)
It’s the great goodbye as we say farewell to summer. Campers will get down to fun with hands on activities, crafts and outdoor exploration. We’ll keep the fun going all week long as we cram in all of our favourite camp activities for one last time including paint the leader and slime the leader events and a trip to Storybook Park to conclude an amazing and unforgettable summer!

TSN (The Sports Nut)
A SPORT-acular week of activities for campers! Each day is jammed packed with sports, sports and more sports! Daily instruction and activities in basketball, soccer, floor hockey and flag football will be offered. Participants will be divided into specific age groups. Fun will be the focus while developing one’s skills and game knowledge.
About the Instructors: Andrew Aitken and Jason Howes are both educators with the Bluewater District School Board. Both are involved in school and community sports and players and coaches.

Home Alone Camp
An action-packed two-day program, that upon successful completion participants will receive their St. John Ambulance babysitting certificate. Participants will learn how to prepare nutritional snacks, the do’s and don’ts about staying home alone, how to handle various situations including sibling conflict, internet safety and more through games, role play and other fun activities including a daily swim!

Silver Lake Outdoor Adventure Day Camp
A fun opportunity for campers to build relationships and learn new skills. This camp is a great introduction to outdoor skills including fire building, canoeing and hiking in a day camp setting. Campers will also get to participate in classic camp activities, including crafts, nature, games, and initiatives lead by qualified Silver Lake staff including NL certified lifeguards for water activities. Campers will be required to pass a swim test at the beginning of the week.
About the Instructors: Silver Lake Outdoor Adventure Day Camp is an extension of Silver Lake Mennonite Camp, located in Sauble Beach. SLMC strives to provide an enjoyable setting where spiritual and personal growth are fostered and Christian values and teachings are emphasized. This occurs primarily during summer camp, outdoor education and retreats through community living, personal discovery, outdoor skills and environmental caring.

Jr. Hoops Camp
Have you got game? Jr. Hoops Camp is designed for girls and boys ages 9-13 and helps develop FUNdamental basketball skills. Learn how to dribble, shoot, pass, rebound, footwork and play defense with an emphasis on sportsmanship! Players of all levels can advance their skills. Help your young basketball player improve his or her game, meet new friends and have serious fun! All campers will receive a Jr. Hoops reversible jersey and Spalding basketball.
About the Instructors: John Mitchell and Jeff Ruttan have plenty of basketball experience. John is an elementary teacher at JDSS, while Jeff is a high school teacher at SHHS. John coached the JDSS junior boys and elementary basketball teams, while Jeff coached the senior SHHS basketball team. Both John & Jeff have experience playing and coaching experience at the club level. John also has experience as an assistant coach with Special Olympics basketball.

Camp Spark
Studio 410’s triple threat camp is coming to the Hanover stage! Study the art of performance, the building blocks of becoming a triple threat (singing | dancing | acting) and the power of being yourself! If you love singing, dancing, performing and being active, this is the perfect camp for you! Each day campers will hone their performance skills through exciting activities including: dance and vocal training, choreography, creation and development, team building activities, act it out group games and much more! This camp is open to kids of all experience levels! Students will perform the last day of camp for friends and family to enjoy!
About the Instructors: Studio 410’s Productions Inc. is a registered not-for-profit company that promotes engagement in the arts through education and performance experiences, with the aim of encouraging confidence and empowerment in young aspiring performers. In recent years they have cast many local talented youth in their acclaimed productions of Legally Blonde, Shrek the Musical Jr., Disney’s Frozen Jr. and most recently, their all-original Canadian show “Not Cancelled”.

Wild Encounters Camp
Calling all curious kids. Get ready for a wild week outdoors. We will be exploring all things nature: animals, plants, orienteering, survival, outdoor cooking and much, much more. Hiking, games, experiments and crafts make this an action-packed week of fun and investigations. Get ready to walk on the wild side.
About the instructor: Nancy Griffin is the Conservation Education Coordinator for Saugeen Valley and Grey Sauble Conservation Authorities. She has many years’ experience with kids of all ages and annually teaches over 9,000 youth throughout Grey/Bruce.

Jr. Firefighter Camp
Ever wondered what it was like to be a firefighter? Come learn with Captain Rob Hagan and Firefighter Christina Schnell as we experience hands on activities of using portable fire extinguishers, hooking up hydrants, using hoses and rope rescue skills. We will also explore the world of firefighter tools, smoke/CO alarms and bunker gear. As well as some basic first aid, water rescue skills, home fire safety and escape planning. Add in some cooperative games, challenges and swimming for a complete week of fun and learning! We are confident it will be an unforgettable experience!

Minecraft Camp
The ultimate Minecraft experience! In partnership with Game Asylum (Cambridge, ON), Campers will experience a creative and exciting camp that brings Minecraft to life! Programming includes pixel art, redstone, parkour courses, and survival scavenger challenges, the focus is always on fun! Campers will spend half their day in the epic gaming trailer and spend the other half participating in traditional camp activities such as games, crafts, swimming and more! Campers do not need to provide a computer or tablet for this camp.

Outdoor Adventurers at the OEC
Have fun this summer at the Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre (OEC)! An exciting partnership with the OEC located on the Bruce Peninsula will provide over 300 acres to explore and immerse in nature. Outdoor Adventurers at the OEC is a chance to get out, learn new skills, explore new places, and make new friends. Campers will participate in activities such as hikes, nature study, introduction to Canoeing, outdoor games and sports and much more! Pick up and drop off location for camp will be at the Hanover P&H Centre and campers will be bussed to and from the OEC daily. Register early as space is limited.

All About Art Camp
Art camp offers so many great ways for campers to experiment, get active and get messy in the world of art! Campers will learn techniques and complete many fun hands-on art projects including cartooning, outdoor drawing & artworks made with a variety of mediums. If you love creating or being creative, this is the camp for you!
About the Instructor: Makenzie Ermel is passionate about helping children embrace the joy of art. She is a local award-winning student, in her 3rd year of Fine Arts at Western University and is becoming well known for her drawings and paintings. Makenzie loves to inspire others to recognize that daily life is full of opportunities to be creative.

RAD Adventures Bike Camp

Junior RAD Camp | Kids and bikes: it’s magic! Rad Adventures teaches skills that last a lifetime. Each day our coaches teach campers new skills on their bikes! Campers will also explore nearby trails and parks and participants will practice their skills on our Rad Trax ramps. We teach: proper riding techniques, trail etiquette, basic mechanic skills — from how to put a chain back on to how to fix a flat tire, use tools and adjust components — use of equipment, road and trail safety, nature and forest values, and that mountain biking is a sport that will keep them healthy, happy and strong their entire lives. The main focus is building confidence on a bike — and having a ton of fun! Equipment Needed: 2 wheel bicycle and CSA approved helmet.

Enfant Soliel Camp
“Lots of fun” Beaucoup de s’amusements”! A summer recreation camp experience utilizing French language skills. This camp is offered in co-operation with the Hanover Canadian Parents for French Chapter. This week will be jam packed with fun including games, songs, crafts, cooking, story time, swimming, outings and much more. A perfect opportunity for French Immersion students to practice their French skills.
