If a class was filled before your form was processed, you will be waitlisted ONLY if you aren’t accommodated in any of your other options – you will be contacted should a space become available prior to the second lesson.

The Town of Hanover is committed to providing safe and quality programs while your child enjoys a day away from school. Participants will have the opportunity to swim, skate (optional), and participate in a variety of themed, interactive games and crafts. Pre-registration is required. Do so early to avoid disappointment! Participants must meet and not exceed maximum age restrictions by December 31, 2023.

Let your creativity run wild as we use our imagination and teamwork to think of the unthinkable. We will become Lego Masters, create cool crafts and design our very own camp game. Join us on this creative adventure! Don’t forget to bring your bathing suit and towel for swimming and your skates, helmet and gloves if you want to go skating (optional).

All campers like Christmas and they like it a lot, but this Christmas break, the Grinch, did not! Spend the week enjoying games, making crafts, and playing in the snow. Pack your bathing suit and towel for swimming we will go. Bring your skates, helmet and gloves if you’d like to go skating and join us as we save our Christmas break, the Grinch is waiting!

Will Wiarton Willie see his shadow? Let’s find out together on February 2nd! This Groundhog Day we are going to have fun playing games and making crafts as we figure out whether there will be another six weeks of winter, or if spring will be coming early. Don’t forget to bring a bathing suit and towel for swimming; and your ice skates, helmet and gloves if you wish to go skating.

What better way to spend your time off school than by participating in marvelous activities, making magnificent crafts and spending time meeting new friends. This March break let’s make some memories and have some fun. We will go swimming everyday so bring a bath suit and towel. There is also optional skating every day, so if you wish to participate, please bring your skates, helmet and gloves.
Intro to Hockey - Learn it, Play it, Love it! NEW!
Hanover is excited to offer “Intro to Hockey” for first-time players between the ages of 6-12 years old. This program is a low cost, low commitment introduction to the sport and will help develop the skills of the game through play and fun games and is recommended for non-registered minor hockey players. Participants will learn technical skills such as puck handling, shooting, and passing in a recreation, and non-body contact environment, helping give your child confidence on the ice. No previous hockey experience is necessary, however basic skating skills are required. Completion of a Learn-to-Skate program is recommended.
Required Equipment: CSA Approved Helmet with cage/mask, Hockey Gloves, Skates, Stick. *Please note that full equipment is not necessary but is strongly encouraged for the safety of all participants.

55+ Gentle Fitness Class NEW!
This 55+ fitness program is designed to challenge your balance, coordination and improve overall strength. This class is designed and open for all fitness levels. If you are looking to start feeling stronger and have more energy, then this class is perfect for you.

Chair Yoga
This class will focus on stretching and strengthening the body in a simple and safe manner. No experience necessary. Breathing techniques will be taught as part of the content in this course to help the body relax and leave the room with a clear mind. Please wear comfortable clothing.

Standing Yoga
Beginners welcome! This class is one of the best classes to start with if you are new to yoga and you consider yourself an active person. We work the body from head to toes, at a good pace so you can learn all the postures. This class offers a great opportunity to relax and learn. Please wear comfortable clothing. Carpet Bowling
This indoor game is similar to Lawn Bowling and utilizes smaller and lighter versions of bowls with less distance to bowl than outdoor bowling. It is fun, challenging, and provides an excellent opportunity to socialize. Newcomers are always welcome!

Huff n Puff
Recreational pick-up hockey with an emphasis placed on the social aspects of the game. Our program is intended for players who are friendly, enthusiastic and ready to cheer on teammates while playing a good game of hockey! *Ages 50 and above.

- Grey County Residents — Grey National Child Benefit (NCB) Reinvestment Program 519.376.0484 x 227. Through the NCB program, eligible candidates may request subsidy for recreation activities (sports, art, music or drama programs, swimming lessons, camps and fitness memberships). - Grey County Residents - Grey County Social Services 519.376.7112. Grey County Children's Service offers programs, subsidies and information for parents and a range of supports for agencies and child care providers. (Summer camps, PA Day camps, March Break programs, etc.). Grey County social service website
- Bruce County Residents — Bruce County Child Care Fee Subsidy 519.881.0431 or 1.800.265.3005. Child Care Fee Subsidy provides financial assistance to eligible families for children in their care attending a Licensed Child Care Program or Approved Bruce County Home Child Care Provider, Nursery School and Before and After School Programs. - Jumpstart - Canadian Tire Jumpstart 1.844-YES-PLAY. The program helps financially disadvantaged kids (ages 4-18) participate in organized sport and recreation by covering registration, equipment and/or transportation costs. Jumpstart Website
- Hanover Residents - The Town of Hanover has a fee assistance program available to assist Hanover residents to take part in Parks, Recreation & Culture Department programs or services. You are encouraged to contact the Manager of Aquatics & Programs at 519.364.2310 x 2122 for further information. Program fee assistance or installment payments on fees and memberships may be arranged pending approval.
Hanover Parks, Recreation & Culture reserves the right to cancel any program that fails to meet minimum registration numbers. Participants are offered a full refund, credit on account or opportunity to transfer to another available class.
A refund or credit will be granted and calculated as follows:
- Program cancellation by Department – full registration fee. Individual cancels 7 days or more prior to program start date – registration fee less $20 administration fee.
- Cancellations less than 7 days prior to program start date - registration fee less $20 will be granted as credit on account. (Note: Program status is decided 7 days prior to program start date.
- Your withdrawal may put the class below the minimum number to operate - thus the $20.00 administration fee.)
Prior to or during program due to:
- Medical reasons – value of remaining classes less applicable administration fee, provided no more than 75% of session has passed.
- Program Dissatisfaction – value of remaining classes less $20.00 administration fee, provided no more than 50% of session has passed.
Hanover, in collaboration with the Grey Bruce Public Health, continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation.
Users of Hanover’s parks, recreation and culture facilities such as the P & H Centre are reminded that when you attend these facilities as a participant, spectator or patron you assume risk when in our facility. An inherent risk of exposure to communicable diseases including COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present.
By visiting any publicly accessible facility such as the P & H Centre you voluntarily assume all risks including any risk of injury, loss, damage and possible exposure to a communicable disease, including COVID-19.
We remind you to follow the COVID-19 precautionary guidelines being recommended by various Canadian health authorities, including the Grey Bruce Public Health, Ontario Health, and the Public Health Agency of Canada.
P & H Centre: Sign in required when entering the facility. As Grey Bruce has moved to the Protect (yellow) level in the Provincial COVID-19 Response Framework, all members of the public that enter the facility must sign in with the contact information. Public members who are not in a registered pool or ice program or with a sport team are required to sign in Sign in is located inside both our entrances.
