THE GOAL

The Splash Pad Committee’s goal is to raise funds to build a splash pad in Hanover.
The Town of Hanover is a vibrant, family-oriented, growing municipality and our modern recreational facilities are essential components to our community. The addition of an accessible splash pad is an investment in the future of our town.

A splash pad provides a free activity for children to get daily outdoor exercise, while developing their gross motor, social and cognitive skills. Water play also fosters imagination, sensory stimulation and encourages socialization. It will be a spot where families gather to participate in a healthy activity, cool down and have FUN!

WHERE?

Location - Hanover Town Park  780 7th Avenue

Adding a splash pad to this park will enhance the functionality of the park and complements the existing amenities such as:

  • Sufficient space to build a splash pad of reasonable size
  • Existing washrooms which will be upgraded
  • Other popular recreational activities already on site
  • Parking availability
  • Proposed future site of the Centre of Excellence Park
  • Can accommodate a large number of visitors

SPLASH PAD FEATURES

  • Colourful, inviting and fun design that suits a variety of age groups
  • Concrete pad with various in-ground and overhead water spray features
  • Push button start and timed shut off
  • Accessible environment promoting inclusive play for all children
  • Renovated and accessible washroom and pump house facility
  • Safe and reliable water “flow through” system with an environmentally friendly 5,000-gallon tank to capture greywater for other uses such as irrigation, flower watering etc.
  • Ample seating with sun and shade options

CONSTRUCTION COSTS & PROJECT TIMING

  • The overall project cost is estimated at $640 000.
  • To succeed, the community needs to raise a minimum $300 000 towards the project.
  • The timeline for completion is dependent on reaching the fundraising goal.
  • The goal is to send the project to tender in 2024, if the fundraising goal is met

HOW?

We are embarking on a $300,000 fundraising campaign and we need your help to turn this vision into a reality. Every contribution, big or small, will make a difference. Your generosity will touch the lives of countless children and families while leaving a lasting legacy in our community.
