HANOVER FIRE DEPARTMENT HOSTING RECRUITMENT OPEN HOUSE SEPTEMBER 16TH
HANOVER, ON – The Hanover Fire Department is inviting members of the public to attend our Recruitment Open House on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, 7:00 PM at the Hanover Fire Station, 670 1st Street, Hanover.
The Open House will provide community members with an inside look at the role of a paid on-call firefighter and the process of joining the Hanover Fire Department. This is the first step for anyone interested in applying, where attendees will learn what it takes to be a firefighter and will have the opportunity to begin the application process following the session.
Those attending will:
• Learn about the commitment and responsibilities expected of firefighters.
• Discover the training and professional development provided by the department.
• Explore compensation, benefits, and opportunities for advancement.
• Take part in an overview presentation and a guided station tour.
• Speak directly with firefighters about their experiences serving the community.
“Joining the Hanover Fire Department starts with understanding the commitment and rewards of the role,” said Fire Chief Jeff Dentinger. “Our Recruitment Open House gives prospective firefighters and their families the chance to learn more, ask questions, and decide if this is the right path for them.”
Spouses and partners are encouraged to attend. Following the Open House, interested individuals will receive details on how to submit a formal application to the Hanover Fire Department.
