Bus tour to feature stops in Wellington North, Minto and Hanover on Saturday, October 26
SAUGEEN REGION – Local history and culture enthusiasts are in for a treat this fall with the 2024 Saugeen Culture Bus Tour, scheduled for Saturday, October 26. The tour will take participants on a journey through some of the most fascinating cultural sites in the Township of Wellington North, Town of Minto, and Town of Hanover.
The tour kicks off at 10:00 a.m. sharp and promises a full day of activities, with a return at 4:00 p.m. Buses will be departing from locations in Arthur, Harriston and Hanover. For just $25, participants will enjoy a lineup of stops that would typically cost over $150.
The itinerary includes visits to the Silver Fox Distillery (Arthur) for a tour and tastings, a stop at the Mount Forest Museum and Archives (Mount Forest) for a historical tour, and a visit to The Barrel House (Clifford), where more tastings will be offered. The day will also feature a live performance by the Grey Wellington Theatre Guild at the Harriston Town Hall and a behind-the-scenes tour of the Hanover Civic Theatre. Storytelling at the Hanover Cemetery will add a deeper connection to the region’s past.
Throughout the day, guests will enjoy a variety of refreshments, including a bagged lunch, a donut from Shultz’s Gone Totally Baked (Hanover), coffee from Ashanti Café (Hanover), and a special gift from Casa Verde (Arhtur). Organizers have also planned a few surprises along the way to make the experience even more memorable.
The tour’s full agenda will be shared with ticket holders approximately one week before the event. Tickets can be purchased online at SaugeenCultureBusTour.Eventbrite.ca.
It’s important to note that one of the buses departing from Harriston will have a service animal (dog) on board. Participants with allergies are encouraged to book a seat on a bus from a different location.
With limited spots available, the Saugeen Culture Bus Tour offers a unique opportunity to discover the hidden gems of the region. Those interested are encouraged to reserve their tickets soon to secure their place on this cultural adventure.
