Well 1 and Well 2 Improvements

Map location of Well Number One and Number Two

The Town of Hanover has initiated a well improvement project and is committed to maintaining an open and transparent notification process throughout the completion of the work. The map shown above indicates the location of Well No. 1 and 2.

The provincial government is investing more than $9.5 million in water infrastructure projects across Grey and Bruce Counties. This funding will support upgrades in three local communities, helping to strengthen drinking water systems and expand wastewater capacity. The $9,524,917 investment is being delivered through Ontario’s Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program under the Health and Safety Water Stream.

This investment will be shared across three important projects in the region with the Town of Hanover receiving $1.75 million to improve two aging municipal wells.

The wells supply the Town with potable drinking water and are an essential and integral asset in the water system for the Town of Hanover. This project is supported by Council, and the Province as grant funding was received to complete these key works in a responsible and sustainable manner.

Community input is a major part of this project. We will continue to share updates as more information becomes available, and we will also host a Public Information Centre (PIC) to present the project and answer questions.
