Local resident Sandra Schreinert is inviting Hanover to step into the national spotlight by submitting nominations for Coca-Cola’s Kindest Community Award. This program celebrates communities that go above and beyond to care for one another. The winning town will receive $100,000 for local projects and a stop on the 2026 Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan tour!

Sandra has proudly highlighted Hanover’s incredible spirit of generosity and teamwork. Here are just a few examples of what makes our town special:
- The Light on Main Street: For nearly 20 years, volunteers have served a free hot lunch every Wednesday to about 150 people—no one goes hungry in Hanover.
- Warming Centre: A safe, welcoming space during winter months where people can warm up, enjoy food, and connect socially.
- Community Response to Crisis: After the devastating 2022 main street fire, Hanover residents, churches, and service clubs came together to provide shelter, meals, clothing, and mental health support.
- Youth & Senior Programs: From The Deck after-school center to card games and social gatherings for seniors, Hanover fosters connection for all ages.
- Fundraising Power: Our residents have raised millions for facilities like the P&H Centre, splash pad, and Saugeen Hospice—proof that Hanover cares deeply about its future.
Now it’s your turn to share your stories! Whether it’s a big initiative or a small act of kindness, every nomination counts.
