A Free-Style Event – Just Like Terry

This is a free-style, Do-It-Your-Way event – just like Terry.
Walk, run, roll, cycle, hop or skip, dance, push a stroller, bring the kids, play and go at your own pace. There’s no race time. You choose how you move to honour Terry or your loved ones to support cancer research—and help continue our local Canadian fall tradition.

Optional Walking Routes (If You Choose)

Start at the Splash Pad parking lot, walk to The Deck registration table (near the 7th Avenue road/lot), then back to the Splash Pad start line. From there, head out to 7th Avenue, south to the Old Stork Restaurant site trail entry, and onto the Hanover Community Trail toward the bridges. Turn back anytime—no set distance or finish time.

Option A.  "5K" STEPS

• Includes: start loop (parking → The Deck → START/FINISH line) + out-and-back to Bridges 3 & 4
• Trail: ~3.4 km round trip
• Total: roughly 5,000 steps

Option B. “10K" STEPS

• Includes: start loop (parking → The Deck →  START/FINISH line  ) + out-and-back to Bridges 1 & 2
• Trail: ~6.2 km round trip
• Total: roughly 10,000 steps

• Great news! Each VOLUNTEER & participant will receive a Harvey’s gift card for a Harvey’s burger or sandwich (while supplies last!).
• We are grateful to Hanover Foodland as our Top Supporter, generously providing bottled water, juice boxes, protein bars, snacks, and fruits for participants and volunteers every single year.  Supplementary nourishments kindly provided by Hanover Giant Tiger and Grant's Your Independent Grocer. Hanover McDonald's hot coffee and treats - THANK YOU!

How to Take Part

1. Register for the Hanover run
   Go to: run.terryfox.ca/HANOVER and click “Register and Raise Funds.”
   Your personal fundraising page will be created automatically. When you register, you can:
   • Make a personal donation
   • Honour or write an encouraging message to a family member, friend, or someone who has battled cancer—or simply cheer on your local TFR community!
   • Invite family and friends to support your page for cancer research

The event is non-competitive and open to walkers, runners, rollers, cyclists, families and friends - PEOPLE OF ALL AGES— EVERYBODY WELCOME!

2. Can’t make it but still want to help and make an impact?
   Donate directly to the Hanover Terry Fox Run here:
   run.terryfox.ca/HANOVER (then choose “Donate”).

There is no registration fee, but we kindly ask every participant to fundraise or make a personal donation. 

The Terry Fox Run is first and foremost a fundraising event for cancer research, not just an awareness walk.
