"Meet Me Downtown" Event to Focus on the Future of Downtown Hanover

The Town of Hanover is inviting local business owners, entrepreneurs and community partners to attend the 4th Annual Mayor’s Breakfast for Business, taking place on Wednesday, October 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 130 in Hanover.

This year's theme, "Meet Me Downtown," will highlight the future of Downtown Hanover, showcasing recent accomplishments, sharing key findings from local business research and building momentum for continued growth and investment in the community's downtown core.

"Downtown Hanover is the heart of our community and a key driver of local economic prosperity," says Mayor Sue Paterson. "This breakfast provides an opportunity for business and community leaders to come together, celebrate progress and discuss how we can continue to strengthen and invest in our downtown as our community continues to grow."

Attendees will gain valuable insights into several initiatives that are helping shape Hanover's economic future, including:

  • An overview of the recently completed Downtown Hanover Plan and implementation priorities.
  • Key findings from the Town's Business Retention and Expansion Study, including what local businesses identified as opportunities and challenges for future growth.
  • A featured Downtown Business Owner Panel, where local business leaders will discuss the importance of a vibrant downtown, attracting customers and visitors, supporting entrepreneurship and identifying future opportunities.
  • Updates on how Hanover is promoting local businesses through initiatives such as the Driftscape app, business feature videos and other marketing campaigns.
  • Partner updates from the Hanover Downtown Improvement Area (DIA) and the Hanover Chamber of Commerce.
  • Networking opportunities with business owners, elected officials, community organizations and economic development professionals.

The breakfast is designed to foster collaboration, encourage new ideas and strengthen connections within Hanover's business community while advancing a shared vision for downtown revitalization and economic growth.
