Throughout his service, he has continued to expand his professional knowledge and capabilities, earning numerous certifications in fire operations; pump operations; and specialized technical rescue disciplines; including surface water rescue; swiftwater rescue; ice rescue; and auto extrication.

"Promoting from within is particularly meaningful to our organization. It recognizes the commitment and experience our members bring to the department and the community over many years. Deputy Chief Marshall understands our department, our members, and the community we serve. His experience and leadership provide a strong foundation as he takes on this new role," said Fire Chief Jeff Dentinger.

The appointment represents an important step in the continued development of the Hanover Fire Department's leadership team. It demonstrates the department's commitment to developing the experience and capabilities of its members.

"I am proud to see Matt take on this new responsibility and look forward to working alongside him in his new capacity. Our department's greatest strength has always been its people. The dedication, professionalism, and willingness of our members to step forward and serve are what allow us to continue providing the level of service our community expects and deserves," added Chief Dentinger.
