As communities across Grey County prepare for the 2026 municipal and school board elections, prospective candidates and third party advertisers are invited to attend an upcoming Candidate & Third Party Advertiser Information Session on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The session will take place at Grey County Council Chambers, located at 595 9th Avenue East, Owen Sound, with the option to participate either in person or virtually.

This free information session is designed to help individuals considering a role in local governance understand the election process, responsibilities, and legislative requirements.

Attendees will hear from:

  • Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing
  • Election and Legislative Procedure Experts – Clerks on Call
  • Grey County staff
  • Staff from each member municipality, who will also be available to answer questions throughout the evening

The event will provide valuable insights into nomination rules, campaign finance regulations, third party advertising requirements, and what candidates can expect throughout the election period.
