The Town of Hanover is encouraging all residents to take part in the 2026 Census of Population, as census collection begins across Canada.

Census information plays an important role in planning and delivering local programs and services, including education, health care, transportation and labour market initiatives. The data help governments at all levels make informed, evidence-based decisions and ensure funding and resources reflect the needs of local communities.

Households that have received a census invitation letter in the mail with a Secure Access Code are encouraged to complete the census online at census.gc.ca. The online questionnaire is secure, confidential and easy to complete.

All information collected through the census is protected under the Statistics Act and is kept strictly confidential.

The Town of Hanover encourages residents to complete their census during the month of May and to help spread the word about the importance of participation. A complete and accurate census ensures Hanover’s population and community needs are properly represented.
