Residents are advised that the Municipality's annual watermain flushing program will begin on August 4 and continue for approximately three weeks.
Watermain flushing is a routine maintenance activity that helps maintain water quality, remove sediment from the distribution system and ensures the continued reliability of municipal water infrastructure.
During flushing operations, residents in affected areas may experience temporary reddish discolouration of their water. While the water remains safe, discolouration may occur as sediment is stirred up and removed from the watermain system.
To minimize impacts during flushing, residents are encouraged to:
- Run cold water until it clears before using appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers.
- Reduce water usage while flushing is taking place in your area to help minimize the amount of sediment and discolouration entering your home's plumbing.
Municipal staff appreciate residents' patience and cooperation while this important maintenance work is completed.
