The Town of Hanover is pleased to announce the completion of its Business Retention & Expansion (BR+E) Action Plan Roadmap, a strategic plan developed using feedback from 61 local businesses to support a stronger, more connected and competitive local economy. The BR+E initiative is part of a province-wide program designed to strengthen local economies through business engagement and community-driven action. In 2025, Hanover businesses shared their insights on opportunities, challenges and priorities for growth. Their feedback has now been transformed into a roadmap that will guide economic development efforts over the coming years.

The roadmap identifies several priority areas, including:

  • Workforce attraction and skills development
  • Business support navigation
  • Collaboration and networking opportunities
  • Shared marketing and promotion
  • Succession planning and business continuity
  • Housing and space readiness to support economic growth

The Action Plan focuses on moving beyond consultation and into implementation, with initiatives designed to support existing businesses, encourage investment and enhance Hanover's business environment.

"Businesses told us what matters most to them, and this roadmap demonstrates our commitment to turning that feedback into action," said April Marshall, Economic Development Manager.

The Town will continue to provide updates as actions are implemented and progress is made.
