NOTICE OF A PUBLIC MEETING

CONCERNING A PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Hanover will hold a Public Meeting on:

MONDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2026 at 4 P.M.

in the Municipal Council Chambers located at 341 10th Street to consider a proposed zoning by-law amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended.

The proposed zoning by-law amendment (Z2-26) would rezone lands described as Part of Lots 11and 12, Con 1 North of Durham Road and known as 853 Grey Road 28 in the Town of Hanover, in the County of Grey. Below is a key map showing the location of the proposed amendment.

This Zoning By-law Amendment proposes the construction of one (1) six-storey, 87-unit apartment building within the C3 Zone, with a site-specific provision (C3-xx) to permit a maximum building height of 20 metres. The application also proposes to rezone the eastern portion of the site from Future Development (D) to Residential Type 4 (R4) to facilitate the construction of the proposed townhouse development. The application also proposes to permit an apiary (rooftop beehives), ground-mounted solar panels and wind turbines, as well as solar panels attached to or mounted on buildings and parking structures on the site.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Hanover before the proposed zoning by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Town of Hanover to the Ontario Land Tribunal, unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

If you wish to be notified of the decision of Town of Hanover Council on the proposed zoning by-law amendment, you must make a written request to the Clerk of the Town of Hanover 341 10th Street, Hanover, ON, N4N 1P5.
